Senior Application Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Identify, assess, and address security vulnerabilities in web applications and proprietary software systems.

• Perform technical vulnerability assessments utilizing SAST, DAST, penetration testing reports, and bug bounty initiatives.

• Modify and enhance .NET/C# code to address security vulnerabilities based on risk prioritization timelines.

• Develop, sustain, and enforce secure coding practices across development teams.

• Implement reusable secure coding methodologies such as ORM and output encoding frameworks.

• Provide assistance to software developers during code reviews and in the remediation of intricate security issues.

• Monitor new web application threats, exploitation methods, and updates to the OWASP Top 10.

• Ensure that application security measures comply with national, state, and international data protection regulations.

• Support adherence to FERPA, COPPA, GDPR, and UK GDPR requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience focused on application security.

• Strong hands-on software development background with experience in .NET/C# refactoring and remediation.

• Comprehensive knowledge of web application vulnerabilities, remediation strategies, and the OWASP Top 10.

• Direct experience with SAST, DAST, third-party penetration testing reports, and bug bounty program management.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and strong communication and collaboration skills across functions.

• Must have current and continual permanent residency in India.

• Preferred: Experience in securing applications in multi-cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Preferred: Familiarity with FERPA, COPPA, GDPR, and SOC 2 standards.

• Preferred: Professional security certifications such as CASE, GWAPT, GWEB, or CEH.
