
Senior Application Engineer, HPC and AI for Physics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Create workflows for experimental processing, analysis, and numerical simulations in fields such as imaging science, plasma and high energy physics, and material science.
• Assess the application and conduct benchmarks to pinpoint bottlenecks while providing recommendations to collaborators and product teams.
• Develop examples or sample applications for use in tutorials.
• Represent NVIDIA at prominent scientific conferences, workshops, and industry events.
• Collaborate across research, engineering, and product teams.
• Convert insights gained from research partnerships into constructive feedback for engineering concerning toolkits and libraries aimed at accelerated super-resolution imaging, high energy density, plasma, and material physics.
• Assist in creating tools that benefit researchers, partners, and developers throughout the ecosystem.
• BS, MS, or PhD in computational, theoretical and/or experimental physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in developing HPC, AI, or machine learning software for physics applications and numerical simulations.
• Extensive experience with GPU-accelerated computing and contemporary ML frameworks.
• Excellent communication abilities with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Significant publications in HPC and AI relevant to numerical simulations, plasma physics, and imaging science.
• Profound understanding of numerical simulations, such as particle-in-cell.
• Proficiency in CUDA, parallel programming, or performance-centric software development.
• Awareness of agentic AI workflows applicable to science and discovery.
