Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of Android features from the technical design phase through implementation, testing, release, and production monitoring.

• Create intuitive and accessible mobile interfaces for both creators and users.

• Develop robust integrations encompassing APIs, authentication, caching, and background processing.

• Contribute to the Android architecture and make technical decisions that enhance scalability and maintainability.

• Identify and troubleshoot crashes, performance issues, memory concerns, device-specific behaviors, and network-related challenges.

• Monitor production performance and proactively pinpoint opportunities for improvement.

• Enhance application stability, release quality, and the overall user experience.

• Engage in a structured production-support rotation and take responsibility for resolving issues.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

• Increase automated test coverage for essential Android user journeys.

• Participate in code reviews and offer insightful technical feedback.

• Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to the establishment of engineering best practices.

• Independently design, develop, debug, test, and maintain high-quality production software.

• Effectively utilize coding assistants and AI agents while validating AI-generated code.

• Safeguard proprietary code and sensitive information when employing AI tools.

• Collaborate with Android and iOS Engineering, Backend Engineering, QA, Product, and Design teams.

• Report directly to the Engineering Lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including extensive native Android development expertise.

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack, Android lifecycle, concurrency, and API integration.

• Demonstrated experience in building, shipping, and maintaining production Android applications.

• Solid background in automated testing.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot mobile applications across various devices, networks, and performance conditions.

• Understanding of mobile security, accessibility, CI/CD, and application release methodologies.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.

• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with Product, Design, QA, backend, and iOS teams.

• Experience in mentoring engineers or offering technical guidance.

• Familiarity with media, creator, social, community, or social-feed products is an advantage.
