Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver Android app features and interactions from start to finish.

• Bridge the feature and quality gap with iOS while advancing Android capabilities.

• Generate innovative product ideas rather than solely implementing specifications.

• Design and evaluate A/B tests, responding to metrics effectively.

• Manage Play Store releases, rollouts, and ensure compliance with policies.

• Enhance development workflows, tools, and the team's application of AI.

• Collaborate directly with design and product teams in a flat organizational structure.

• Engage with customers to understand and support their experiences.

• Shape Android architecture, quality standards, and project priorities.

• Potential to evolve into a technical leadership role within the Android platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building Android applications, with demonstrable work available in the Play Store.

• Extensive knowledge of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Gradle, coroutines, Flow, and the Android development ecosystem.

• Strong focus on product and visual details.

• Proven and continuously improving workflows for integrating AI.

• Experience in an early-stage or rapidly growing startup environment.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and resolve issues independently.

• Sound product judgment regarding factors that contribute to a feature's success.

• Bonus: Familiarity with permissions, overlays, accessibility services, usage statistics, foreground services, background tasks, and notifications.

• Bonus: Experience with Health Connect, Google Fit, or comparable health and wellness platforms.

• Bonus: Knowledge of Wear OS, Glance widgets, and other non-phone interfaces.

• Bonus: Experience in training or fine-tuning models.

• Bonus: Background in A/B testing and analytics.

• Bonus: Management of Play Console releases, CI, and Firebase.

• Bonus: Personal apps published in the Play Store.

• French language proficiency is a plus.
