Senior Android Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Create and develop new functionalities for Finom’s Android app utilized by business owners throughout Europe.

• Design and implement multi-account cash flow management, banking transactions, payments, physical and virtual card issuance and oversight, as well as AI-driven accounting automation.

• Construct refined, responsive user interfaces using Jetpack Compose.

• Ensure code quality, performance, and stability through automated testing and comprehensive code reviews.

• Collaborate with Backend, Quality Assurance, Design, and Product teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.

• Lead technical decisions within the domain and pinpoint areas for enhancement.

• Contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines, tooling, and mobile best practices.

• Influence architectural decisions, elevate engineering quality, and mentor fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in Android development.

• Proficient in Kotlin; familiarity with Java is an advantage.

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, and Clean Architecture.

• Experience with MVI, MVVM, and MVP presentation-layer patterns.

• Knowledge of RxJava and Kotlin Coroutines / Flow.

• Familiarity with Dagger 2, Hilt, or Koin.

• Experience using Retrofit.

• Experience with Cicerone or Jetpack Navigation Component.

• Proficient in Jetpack Compose.

• Hands-on experience with Firebase, including FCM, Analytics, and Crashlytics.

• Familiarity with feature-module architecture in a production environment.

• Comfortable using Git / GitLab and managing GitLab CI/CD.

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Background in fintech or financial products is a plus.

• Knowledge of mobile security best practices is advantageous.

• Experience in UI performance profiling and optimization is a plus.

• Familiarity with Android Profiler, Perfetto, Baseline Profiles, or similar tools is a plus.

• Published apps on Google Play are an asset.

• An active GitHub profile is a plus.

• Experience with AI agents, large language model tools, AI-powered IDE tools, model evaluation, and AI security is a plus.
