Senior Analyst, Sports Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation and implementation of actionable insights and analyses for critical business inquiries related to bonuses, VIPs, trading, promotions, and other relevant areas.

• Manage and execute several short- and long-term projects efficiently.

• Direct the analytics strategy within the Sports Analytics team in partnership with the Sports Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

• Deliver analytical results and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, converting quantitative data into actionable business narratives.

• Develop and uphold complex datasets, reports, and dashboards.

• Assess, evaluate, and enhance bonus and promotional expenditures.

• Design and assess controlled experiments, including A/B and multivariate testing.

• Create agents and automations to streamline manual tasks and processes.

• Guide junior analysts and foster a high-performance analytics culture.

• Collaborate with product, trading, operations, and finance teams to shape BetMGM's sports betting offerings.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data science.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with large, complex datasets.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

• Proficient in a programming language (e.g., Python, R).

• Proven ability to create clear, stakeholder-ready dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.

• Strong analytical communication skills, with the capability to present intricate findings to non-technical and senior audiences.

• Experience in leading analytical strategies throughout the commercial business.

• Background in designing and analyzing A/B or multivariate tests to assess commercial interventions.

• Experience working with large, often incomplete and complex datasets.

• Expert knowledge of sports and the sports betting industry in the United States.

• Previous experience in a regulated sports betting or iGaming environment is preferred.

• Business-level proficiency in the English language.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship.

• Must adhere to applicable gaming licensing requirements and comprehensive background checks.
