Senior Analyst, Software/Info Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Validate hypotheses using data analysis, addressing issues such as partition skew, schema modifications, and ACL/credential errors, while suggesting solutions.

• Investigate the causes of issues, evaluate their impacts, and recommend possible options.

• Collaborate with various applications, platforms, and SRE teams to tackle complex problems and prevent future occurrences.

• Present clear recommendation options that outline risks, efforts, and impacts to leadership for informed decision making.

• Design and manage Kafka producers and consumers utilizing Java, Python, or comparable technologies.

• Aid in the design and implementation of event-driven applications.

• Create and oversee Kafka topics, consumer groups, and message schemas.

• Develop integrations utilizing Kafka Connect source and sink connectors.

• Independently resolve moderately complex issues and provide structured updates to project leaders.

• Summarize findings, risks, and recommendations effectively.

• Coordinate minor technical tasks or initiatives with stakeholders and eliminate small obstacles.

• Diagnose system problems by correlating logs, metrics, schemas, and their interrelationships.

• Interpret project requirements and translate them into technical implementation specifics.

• Suggest minor process and tooling enhancements, such as alerts, runbook procedures, and dashboards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-4 years of relevant experience is preferred.

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience may be considered.

• Experience in developing Kafka producers and consumers using Java, Python, or similar technologies is essential.

• Familiarity with event-driven applications is required.

• Proven experience in creating and maintaining Kafka topics, consumer groups, and message schemas.

• Experience in developing integrations with Kafka Connect source and sink connectors is necessary.

• Ability to validate hypotheses with data and recommend solutions.

• Proficiency in analyzing issues, assessing impacts, and proposing various options.

• Capability to collaborate across applications, platforms, and SRE teams.

• Strong communication skills to present clear recommendation options related to risk, effort, and impact.

• Understanding of integration patterns, data flows, and event schemas is important.
