Senior Analyst, Medical Economics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data enhancements and analytical reporting solutions.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient analytical solutions.

• Execute and uphold medical economics data solutions, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accuracy.

• Analyze claims, membership, and quality data to identify trends in cost, utilization, and quality across ACO partner populations.

• Highlight findings that prompt action from partners.

• Collaborate with clinical leadership to identify and assess new enterprise clinical initiatives.

• Construct and sustain reusable analyses, including PMPM trends, ED/IP utilization, ACSC/avoidable admissions, and care gaps.

• Account for imperfections in the underlying data.

• Create and deliver internally-focused analytical packages and executive reports.

• Transform analytical findings into clear, actionable narratives.

• Query and validate data within Snowflake.

• Implement quality checks, troubleshoot discrepancies, resolve issues, and document assumptions.

• Gather and integrate feedback from clinical, network, and finance teams to enhance analytical methodology, reporting, and processes.

• Utilize AI tools to support the development of analytical packages and output summaries.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that reporting tables and dashboards facilitate accurate and timely analysis.

• Transfer analytical and methodological knowledge to internal teams.

• Contribute to methodology guides, definitions, training materials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Develop clean, reusable, and testable analytical code using existing data team libraries and modules.

• Manage multiple tasks, adapt to changes, and meet project deadlines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in medical economics, healthcare analytics, or population health analytics within a payer, ACO, value-based care organization, or a similar company.

• Advanced SQL skills are required, with the capability to independently query and analyze large claims datasets.

• Familiarity with Python for analysis or automation is an advantage.

• Experience in creating reporting deliverables such as presentations and dashboards for internal stakeholders and executives.

• Proficiency in developing data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.

• Experience in managing multiple concurrent deliverables while adhering to project deadlines.

• Strong collaborative and team-oriented approach.

• Ability to clearly communicate findings to internal and external teams with varying levels of technical and clinical expertise.

• Comfort in a fast-paced work environment.

• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

• Experience with agentic AI tools such as Claude and Snowflake Cortex.

• Prior experience with a payer, ACO, or similar value-based care organization is preferred.

• Hands-on experience in value-based care analytics and claims groupers such as Symmetry ETG/ERG or similar episode groupers is preferred.
