This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Ensure that taxability matrices are precise, up-to-date, and maintained for every supported country.
β’ Coordinate annual reviews of tax legislation with external tax providers, ensuring timely completion of these reviews.
β’ Evaluate changes in tax legislation and ensure the accurate implementation of all necessary payroll and tax updates.
β’ Revise payroll guides, taxability documentation, and payroll instructions to align with legislative or policy changes.
β’ Execute and review tax gross-up and withholding calculations within the payroll system of suppliers.
β’ Regularly maintain payroll instruction guides and payroll schedules.
β’ Clearly and proactively communicate updates and changes to client payroll contacts and internal stakeholders.
β’ Develop new country implementation guides for any countries added to the GATE payroll footprint, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and scalable.
β’ Reconcile payroll reports with systems of record while investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
β’ Document payroll and tax processes to ensure consistency, facilitate knowledge transfer, and prepare for audits.
β’ Oversee client invoicing, ensuring that invoices align with the number of payroll calculations performed.
β’ Assist with billing preparation as needed and comprehend the financial implications of client service level agreements (SLAs).
β’ Help in tracking revenue associated with payroll services.
β’ Aid in the processing and reconciliation of supplier invoices for both payroll systems and tax providers, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals.
β’ Train, mentor, and provide ongoing support to newer or less experienced team members.
β’ Act as a subject matter expert for global payroll, taxability, and compliance-related inquiries.
β’ Collaborate with internal teams (Payroll, Tax, Finance, Product, and Operations) and external vendors to facilitate payroll delivery.
β’ Identify opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and documentation, adopting a mindset of continuous improvement.
β’ Provide assistance on projects and other assigned duties, including new country launches and enhancements to systems or processes.
β’ Support marketing initiatives, which include updating product features and service descriptions, creating and maintaining one-pagers, and offering feedback on payroll-related video or training content.
β’ Strong knowledge of global payroll tax and an understanding of local taxability regulations.
β’ Familiarity with international compensation.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
β’ Strong analytical, organizational, and planning abilities, with a keen aptitude for numbers.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Results-driven, proactive, and equipped with a strong problem-solving approach.
β’ Proven skills in project management.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external partners.
β’ Capability to document processes clearly and effectively.
β’ Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to discover better and more efficient working methods.
β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in:
β’ Microsoft Excel (formulas, formatting, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros)
β’ Microsoft Word.
β’ Strong proficiency in systems, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technical systems.
β’ EOE including disability/veteran.
