Data Quality Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold validation rules, reconciliation processes, and quality assurance checks across various record systems.

• Examine data integrity challenges and trace discrepancies between platforms and systems to their root causes.

• Create and sustain data pipelines and profiling workflows using Python/R and SQL to cleanse, structure, and validate incoming data.

• Collaborate with data engineering and BI teams to establish review and approval controls for data entering reporting and analytics pipelines.

• Utilize descriptive and inferential statistical techniques to identify anomalies, measure data quality issues, and assist in root-cause analyses.

• Assess the behavior and output of machine learning or scoring models against real-world results, identifying drift or inconsistencies.

• Convert data quality insights into actionable reports for non-technical decision-makers and leadership.

• Work with stakeholders to determine data quality metrics, standards, and reporting schedules.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Python/R and SQL for data profiling, cleansing, and validation.

• Understanding of statistical analysis, including hypothesis formulation, exploratory data analysis, and interpreting uncertainty.

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and the evaluation of model outputs for quality and consistency.

• Proven experience in designing data validation rules, reconciliation processes, or quality controls across multiple record systems.

• Strong skills in root-cause investigation.

• A systems-oriented mindset encompassing upstream sources, pipelines, and downstream consumers.

• A first-principles approach to problem-solving.

• Comfortable collaborating closely with engineering teams.

• Proficient in visualization and communication using Matplotlib, ggplot, and/or Power BI.

• Experience with AI tools and LLM-based workflows, such as Claude and GPT.

• Background in data science, analytics, or a related field; formal training or equivalent experience is preferred.
