Senior Algorithm Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in and spearhead the entire lifecycle of biosignal-based algorithm development for medical devices, which encompasses gathering specifications and requirements, curating and labeling data, development, failure analysis, production, maintenance, and documentation.

• Choose, implement, and devise suitable methods for each challenge, including assessing the effectiveness of deep learning or alternative techniques.

• Enhance the internal deep learning and machine learning tools to boost team productivity.

• Introduce innovative model architectures and algorithmic methodologies.

• Optimize the codebase to promote reusability and facilitate rapid experimentation.

• Establish and refine best practices for user-friendly, well-documented, and thoroughly tested algorithm implementations.

• Implement unit tests, comprehensive documentation, continuous integration, and non-regression testing.

• Present findings to key stakeholders and assist with the application of algorithms for client engagement.

• Support client-facing initiatives and influence the effectiveness of current and future Beacon algorithms for clients.

• Collaborate with data scientists, neuroscientists, engineers, and clinicians to build, deploy, and maintain models that analyze brain and biosignal data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning, particularly within health sciences or other regulated sectors.

• Demonstrated success in deploying algorithms into production.

• Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) and statistical analysis.

• Proficient in PyTorch or other deep learning frameworks.

• Knowledge of current deep learning advancements, including Transformer/ViT, large-scale modeling, and large-model training.

• Adherence to software and ML engineering best practices, including testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Dockerization, CI/CD, and experiment tracking.

• Experience with biosignals, medical imaging data, or extensive time-series datasets, or a keen interest in expanding knowledge in this area.

• Ability to distill, articulate, and present intricate technical subjects appropriately for both internal and external audiences.

• Competence in participating in the full algorithm development lifecycle, including scoping, data wrangling, experimentation, formal validation, quality/regulatory documentation, production deployment, and collaboration with clients.
