Senior AL Developer – Business Central

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and sustain Business Central solutions and extensions utilizing AL.

• Create new functionalities and consistently enhance existing Business Central applications based on the internal business requirements.

• Develop and manage tables, table extensions, pages, page extensions, codeunits, reports, queries, APIs, and other AL objects.

• Convert business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions within Business Central.

• Design and oversee integrations between Business Central and other systems, applications, and services using APIs and web services.

• Develop automation and refine existing business processes and workflows within Business Central.

• Diagnose complex technical issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and enhance solution performance and reliability.

• Oversee and support the technical lifecycle of Business Central solutions, including development, testing, releases, upgrades, and deployments.

• Ensure that developments adhere to Microsoft Business Central and AL development best practices, including clean code, extension-based architecture, documentation, and source control.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to discover opportunities for improving and expanding Business Central capabilities.

• Assist in defining technical standards and contribute to the long-term development of the Business Central environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Dynamics 365 Business Central development, with a strong focus on recent hands-on Business Central experience.

• In-depth expertise in Application Language (AL) and the development of Business Central extensions.

• Comprehensive understanding of Business Central architecture, application objects, data structures, extension model, and development lifecycle.

• Practical experience in developing tables, pages, codeunits, reports, queries, APIs, and extensions.

• Experience in designing and implementing integrations between Business Central and external applications or services, using REST APIs, web services, JSON, or similar technologies.

• Proficient in Visual Studio Code and AL development tools, including debugging and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with Git-based source control and CI/CD, preferably using Azure DevOps or GitHub.

• Experience with Business Central upgrades, version management, and extension maintenance.

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including clean code, testing, maintainability, performance, and documentation.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Capacity to work independently, take ownership of development tasks, and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
