Senior AI Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop fully functional, tested frontend and backend components utilizing React, TypeScript, Next.js, Python, FastAPI, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

• Design and enhance backend functionalities and APIs while considering potential scalability issues.

• Deconstruct ambiguous product requests, clarify technical specifications, and deliver realistic time estimates.

• Take responsibility for platform stability, maintenance, and observability through AWS/GCP and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.

• Ensure production code complies with security, performance, Lighthouse 90+, WCAG accessibility, and scalable data-modeling criteria.

• Address edge cases, implement error handling, and manage animations/transitions and integration behavior prior to release.

• Convert intricate B2B insurance compliance requirements into scalable full-stack architectures and user-friendly experiences.

• Leverage AI tools to build, test, review, document, debug, and deploy production-ready features efficiently.

• Assess AI-generated outputs for maintainability, security, and adherence to compliance standards.

• Identify, document, and disseminate AI engineering workflows.

• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders effectively.

• Engage in sprint planning, capacity assessment, effort estimation, and release management activities.

• Perform code reviews, maintain documentation, and provide mentorship to junior and fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience in production with React, TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS.

• Proficiency with design systems, including Storybook and Atomic Design.

• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and animation libraries like Framer Motion.

• Strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, Node.js, and RESTful/GraphQL API development.

• Practical knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy, encompassing migrations, schema design, and query optimization.

• Experience with AWS or GCP, automated testing frameworks, and GitHub Actions CI/CD automation.

• Mastery of AI coding assistants and agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.

• Proven track record of delivering complete, production-ready application features swiftly without compromising quality.

• Demonstrated ability to transform broad requirements into production-ready software with minimal guidance.

• Capacity to grasp complex, regulation-heavy B2B sectors; prior experience in insurance is advantageous.

• Ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment and manage features from inception to completion.

• Strong grasp of maintainability, security, and established engineering practices.

• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Capable of communicating technical risks, addressing blockers with proposed solutions, and producing clear technical documentation.
