Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement production-grade LLM functionalities within the Kayzen Console.

• Create backend services, APIs, and integrations that link AI capabilities with the product.

• Contribute to product-facing and full-stack features as necessary.

• Apply production patterns for LLMs, RAG, embeddings, agents, and tool invocation.

• Develop reusable components and abstractions to enhance engineering speed and consistency.

• Establish and refine evaluation, observability, monitoring, and feedback mechanisms for AI features.

• Oversee and optimize quality, latency, reliability, and inference costs.

• Resolve production issues and iterate based on telemetry data and user feedback.

• Collaborate with Product, ML, and Engineering teams to translate product challenges into practical AI solutions.

• Rapidly prototype, validate concepts, and convert successful tests into sustainable production systems.

• Work closely with Console Engineering, Product, and ML teams in a comprehensive product environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in building and deploying LLM-powered features in production.

• Practical knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector search, and/or agentic systems.

• Familiarity with LLM APIs and orchestration patterns.

• Solid understanding of production concerns associated with LLMs, such as evaluation, observability, failure modes, costs, and latency.

• Experience refining AI features based on telemetry, evaluation results, or user insights.

• Significant experience in designing APIs, services, and production-grade systems.

• Capacity to write clean, maintainable code and take ownership from development to production.

• Experience contributing across a product stack and a willingness to engage with backend systems and user-facing product functionalities.

• Comfort with AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and production environments.

• Full-stack product development experience with Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and/or NodeJS is a strong advantage.

• A proactive approach to shipping, iterating, and solving pragmatic problems.

• Ability to adapt to ambiguity and rapid changes.

• Strong collaboration skills with Product, ML, and Engineering stakeholders.

• Capability to discuss trade-offs, constructively challenge requirements, and translate AI complexity into practical product solutions.

• Experience with multi-agent systems, tool invocation, or MCP is a plus.

• Familiarity with setting up guardrails, moderation, and safety checks is advantageous.

• Knowledge of prompt/context management, routing, caching, or fallback strategies is beneficial.

• Experience with Docker and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.

• Familiarity with modern frontend development and customer-facing web applications is desirable.
