Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of AI solutions from the initial technical discovery phase through to production and ongoing enhancements.

• Design and advance Generative AI, RAG, and agentic applications.

• Establish technical methodologies that consider quality, scalability, security, cost, maintainability, and operational impact.

• Create agents and workflows that engage with tools, APIs, databases, messaging systems, and enterprise platforms.

• Define orchestration patterns including Human-in-the-Loop, long-running workflows, retries, fallback strategies, and deterministic controls.

• Set up evaluation, observability, guardrails, and reliability processes for AI applications.

• Provide guidance on model, retrieval, framework, and infrastructure choices based on technical trade-offs.

• Diagnose complex production challenges involving models, prompts, retrieval, tools, integrations, and infrastructure.

• Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders, offering technical advice as necessary.

• Assist fellow engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices for AI solutions.

• Join a delivery team focused on creating Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions for a global enterprise client.

• Shape and implement AI solutions from discovery to production utilizing software engineering and contemporary AI capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundation in software engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering production-grade Generative AI and LLM-based solutions.

• Extensive knowledge of software design principles, including modularity, separation of concerns, testability, maintainability, resiliency, and clean interfaces.

• Capability to design services, APIs, asynchronous workflows, and distributed components for production settings.

• Practical experience with RAG and agentic AI patterns, such as tool use, function calling, orchestration, Human-in-the-Loop, and guardrails.

• In-depth understanding of embeddings, vector search, retrieval strategies, chunking, reranking, and enterprise knowledge retrieval.

• Proficient with AI frameworks or SDKs like LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, LlamaIndex, OpenAI Agents SDK, Strands, or similar.

• Hands-on experience with multiple LLM providers including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or similar.

• Ability to evaluate trade-offs among models, providers, orchestration methods, retrieval strategies, and infrastructure options.

• Strong understanding of AI evaluation and observability, covering quality, tracing, latency, token usage, failures, and costs.

• Good grasp of cloud-native practices, such as scalability, resiliency, secrets management, configuration management, observability, and access control.

• Solid working knowledge of Docker, CI/CD, automated testing, and version control.

• Proficiency in English for technical discussions with international stakeholders.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with multi-agent systems and long-running agent workflows.

• Nice-to-have: experience in Agentic SDLC, coding agents, GitHub, or developer tooling integrations.

• Nice-to-have: knowledge of knowledge graphs, GraphRAG, or hybrid retrieval architectures.

• Nice-to-have: practical experience with Datadog LLM Observability, LangSmith, OpenTelemetry, or similar platforms.
