This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate in defining the strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for MDA's data and AI foundation.
• Design and manage the marketing data infrastructure, which includes ETL/ELT pipelines, Databricks Gold Layer tables, and essential data models.
• Create semantic layers, data dictionaries, and structured documentation to facilitate self-service BI and conversational analytics.
• Work alongside the BI team to guarantee that sales and marketing KPIs utilize reliable, well-modeled data.
• Convert ambiguous business inquiries from Marketing, Sales, and R&D into clear requirements and scalable solutions.
• Oversee complex, cross-team projects from start to finish, including new data pipelines and integrations.
• Manage risks associated with interdependent teams, ensuring data reliability and quality.
• Act as the senior technical lead for intricate issues, enhancing the quality of engineering and code reviews.
• Eliminate bottlenecks across teams while mentoring engineers and analysts.
• Develop AI-enabled data products and agents, including integrations, retrieval pipelines, and evaluation practices.
• Discover and automate manual workflows with AI for Marketing and GTM teams.
• Advance AI workflow concepts from initial idea to prototype and production, influencing organizational roadmaps.
• Produce high-quality Python and SQL, increasingly through directing agentic coding tools.
• Review and validate AI-generated outputs before they go into production.
• Advocate for and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles as the company expands globally and opens new offices.
• Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or AI engineering, with substantial hands-on data engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL at an expert level.
• Strong experience with data modeling and dbt.
• Extensive knowledge of data warehouse and lakehouse architectures, ETL/ELT, and the modern data stack.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks or comparable platforms such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Familiarity with creating semantic layers and structured documentation tailored for AI ingestion and agentic workflows.
• Regular use of agentic coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor, ensuring ownership and validation of AI-generated outputs.
• Proven experience in building, deploying, evaluating, and monitoring LLM or agent systems in a production environment.
• History of leading intricate, cross-team data initiatives.
• Independent in requirements gathering with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience supporting Marketing, Sales, or Product teams.
• Experience working with Databricks and developing AI Agents within its ecosystem.
• Background in software engineering beyond just data or AI engineering.
• Expertise in data visualization and dashboards for sales and marketing KPIs.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, such as Salesforce, as well as marketing automation, web analytics, and MarTech tools.
• Experience in building interactive applications using Streamlit, Claude workflows, or web frameworks.
• Background in data science, machine learning, or predictive analytics.
• Comfort in an exploratory setting, testing and iterating on new data sources and methodologies.
• Candidates must reside in the United States.
