Senior AI Back-end Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Maintain and enhance the Python backend systems for an AI-driven research and analysis platform.

• Develop and optimize data ingestion pipelines from diverse external sources, including reviews and data warehouses, into the application layer.

• Integrate large language models (LLMs) and agents into the current backend workflows.

• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and full-stack team members to deliver features from start to finish.

• Ensure backend services adhere to production standards concerning reliability, performance, and data integrity.

• Contribute to architectural decisions affecting backend, data, and AI layers.

• Take ownership of complete backend technical delivery with minimal supervision.

• Convert client research workflows and stakeholder needs into scalable backend solutions.

• Engage in a highly client-facing consulting role with non-technical stakeholders.

• Possibility of advancing into a technical lead position.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in Python backend engineering, approximately 8+ years.

• Proven track record in translating business processes into technical specifications or solution designs, preferably in a consulting or client-facing delivery role.

• Experience managing a roadmap and prioritizing competing initiatives based on feasibility, ROI, and readiness.

• Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management with both technical teams and non-technical business leaders.

• Experience in structured production environments.

• Fluent in English at a native or near-native proficiency level.

• Strong backend engineering capabilities.

• In-depth knowledge of LLMs and agentic systems.

• Solid understanding of generative AI technical specifications, models, and frameworks.

• Ability to design multi-step agent workflows and make informed decisions regarding LLM deployment.

• Candidates are required to work remotely from Brazil or reside in the Buenos Aires metro area in Argentina.

• High proficiency in spoken English, along with strong reading and writing skills in a professional context.
