Senior AI-Assisted Software Engineer – Backend-Heavy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic.

📋 Description

• Design and implement modern web solutions while addressing complex technical challenges.

• Develop, deploy, and sustain production-quality web applications.

• Create and enhance scalable server-side applications utilizing Node.js and TypeScript.

• Collaborate to design and develop responsive user interfaces using React and TypeScript.

• Employ best practices in clean coding, relational database design, API architecture, and testing methodologies.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools during implementation, debugging, testing, documentation, and code reviews.

• Thoroughly review AI-generated outputs and take responsibility for the final work.

• Manage features from the design phase through to production.

• Work alongside product managers, designers, fellow engineers, and global stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining production-quality web applications.

• Extensive hands-on experience in building robust and scalable server-side applications with Node.js and TypeScript.

• Practical experience with React and TypeScript.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including clean coding, relational database design, API architecture, and testing.

• Regular usage of AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar throughout the development lifecycle.

• Proven ability to discern when AI can enhance productivity and to meticulously review AI-generated code.

• Capability to take ownership of features from initial design to production deployment.

• Excellent collaboration skills with product managers, designers, and engineers in dynamic environments.

• Proficient in English at an advanced level.

• Proficient in Spanish at a professional level.

• Must be located in Latin America (LATAM).

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is considered a plus.

• Familiarity with AWS or GCP, Docker, deployment workflows, and CI/CD pipelines is a desirable asset.
