This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the architectural design, configuration, and operational deployment of enterprise routing, switching, and firewall infrastructures.
• Design and implement multi-tenant environments along with segmentation strategies using VRF-Lite, VLANs, and routing policy controls.
• Create and enforce high-availability topologies, failover mechanisms, disaster recovery plans, and resilient backup procedures.
• Collaborate with Navy customer stakeholders, technical leadership, and system owners to gather operational requirements.
• Facilitate technical interchange meetings and spearhead network implementation strategies.
• Install, upgrade, and integrate enterprise networking platforms, security appliances, and identity/policy management frameworks, including Cisco ISE.
• Deliver DISA STIG-compliant security-hardened configuration templates for network infrastructure components.
• Generate architectural diagrams, engineering design packages, technical specifications, SOPs, and build guides.
• Diagnose complex Layer 2/Layer 3 and security policy issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and optimize system performance.
• Work closely with ISSM and ISSO personnel on network artifacts and documentation for Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.
• Provide support to a United States Navy customer by ensuring resilient, mission-critical network infrastructure.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must possess an active Department of Defense Secret clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Network Engineering, Network Architecture, and/or Information Assurance.
• Proven experience with VRF-Lite configurations, macro/micro-segmentation, and multi-tenant enterprise network design.
• Demonstrated ability in designing High Availability (HA) architectures, stateful failover, and redundancy protocols, including HSRP/VRRP, dynamic routing, and dual-homing.
• Strong consultative and customer-facing skills, along with experience leading requirements gathering and architectural design sessions.
• Practical experience with Cisco routing/switching, next-generation firewalls, and DISA STIG implementation.
• Active DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification: CompTIA SecurityX, CCNA, CCNP Security, CCSP, GDSA, or equivalent Cyber Workforce training per DCWF 441.
• Willingness to support up to 35% travel on average.
