This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Conduct investigations, assessments, and evaluations of insurance claims
• Determine coverage, liability, and quantum recommendations within the policy guidelines
• Oversee and adjust claims assigned to you, adhering to company standards and quality metrics
• Execute detailed investigations, engaging with insured parties, claimants, and witnesses
• Inspect claim locations as necessary and assign external vendors when needed
• Suggest reserves, compile reports, and negotiate settlements within your authorized limits
• Participate in mediations and arbitrations as necessary
• Collaborate with defense counsel as assigned
• Maintain precise records utilizing company-specific computer systems and external client platforms
• Manage billing for assigned claims within the established timeframes
• Aid in the collection of accounts receivable for claims assigned to you
• Support local branch marketing efforts, attend professional and social gatherings, and foster new business opportunities
• Cultivate relationships with current clients and engage in client file evaluations and audits
• Keep reserves, coding, and reporting current on your assigned claims files
• Develop existing client relationships to promote Sedgwick and attract new business
• Start building a client base
• Join local claims associations and take part in industry-related events
• Contribute to the organization's quality programs
• Perform additional duties as required
• College/University Degree or equivalent qualification
• Valid driver's license is required
• Proven skills in adjusting and negotiating
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
• Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office and Excel
• Must hold a full license in the province and CIP or be actively pursuing the CIP professional insurance designation
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of insurance, claims, or business management principles
• Capability to navigate and utilize client-specific ancillary systems
• Ability to operate effectively in a remote or home office setting
• Strong analytical and interpretive skills
