Senior Adjuster, Field Service Claims

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Manage property claims that necessitate external field investigations and inspections.

• Build and sustain relationships with insured clients, agents, underwriters, contractors, restoration vendors, and experts.

• Keep informed about the geography of the territory, property-claim regulations and laws, public safety, regulatory agencies, the insurance and legal landscape, and public adjusters.

• Collaborate with BI specialists to address business interruption features.

• Operate within designated limits and moderate authority for settlement and reserving.

• Investigate, assess, analyze, and negotiate personal claims of low to moderate complexity.

• Address low-complexity commercial claims when necessary.

• Oversee all facets of claims, including informal hearings, arbitrations, and small claims litigation.

• Uphold productivity, confidentiality, and customer service standards.

• Implement and coordinate management strategies to reduce loss and expense payouts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with an insurance carrier as a staff CAT or Property Adjuster.

• Must possess or obtain and maintain relevant state adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

• Proficient in negotiating effectively in challenging situations with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.

• Ability to think critically and solve problems in a timely manner.

• Capacity to adapt to changing circumstances, requirements, or priorities.

• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

• Ability to operate with a degree of autonomy in decision-making.

• Proficient in using a personal computer and standard office equipment.

• Willingness to travel 75% of the time, often with little to no prior notice.

• Capability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle for 4-5 hours daily and repeatedly enter and exit the vehicle.

• Ability to load and unload equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.

• Ability to bend, walk, and climb for several consecutive hours while inspecting damaged properties.
