Senior Adjuster, Field Service Claims

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Manage catastrophe property claims that necessitate field investigations and/or inspections.

• Build rapport with insured clients while fostering relationships with agents, underwriters, contractors, restoration vendors, and experts.

• Stay informed about the geography of the territory, property-claim regulations and laws, public safety and regulatory agencies, as well as the insurance and legal environment, including public adjusters.

• Address personal property claims that involve external field investigations and/or inspections.

• Oversee business interruption features in collaboration with BI specialists.

• Operate within established limits and authority on moderately complex assignments.

• Investigate, assess, analyze, and negotiate personal claims that range from minimal to moderate complexity, including potentially low-complexity commercial claims.

• Handle all facets of claims, encompassing informal hearings, arbitrations, and small claims litigation.

• Uphold productivity, confidentiality, and customer service standards.

• Implement and coordinate management strategies to reduce loss and expense payments.

• Exercise moderate authority for settlements and reserving.

• Utilize a company claims office or home as a base of operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.

• 3-5 years of experience as a staff CAT or Property Adjuster with an insurance carrier is necessary.

• Must possess or obtain and maintain the relevant state adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities are essential.

• Demonstrated capability to negotiate effectively in challenging situations with both internal and external parties.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Familiarity with applicable statutes, regulations, and case law is important.

• Ability to think critically and solve problems promptly.

• Capacity to adapt to evolving situations, requirements, or priorities.

• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are necessary.

• Ability to act with a degree of independence when making decisions or taking actions.

• Proficiency in using a personal computer and standard office equipment is required.

• Willingness to travel 75% of the time and on short notice is expected.

• Capability to sit and/or stand for extended durations is necessary.

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle for 4-5 hours each day and to repeatedly enter and exit the vehicle.

• Physical ability to load and unload equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.

• Capacity to bend, walk, and climb for several consecutive hours while inspecting damaged buildings.
