This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Supervise the daily operations of accounts payable and accounts receivable, which includes processing invoices, handling payments, managing collections, and maintaining accounts.
• Ensure bank reconciliations are performed and assist with general ledger reconciliations by investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Aid in the preparation and posting of month-end journal entries and participate in other month-end closing activities.
• Execute and verify payroll processes, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with relevant regulations.
• Evaluate the bookkeeping and accounting tasks completed by junior team members.
• Offer constructive feedback, coaching, and daily guidance to junior members of the administration team.
• Help guarantee that daily administrative responsibilities are completed promptly.
• Handle phone inquiries, respond to customer emails, manage inboxes, and keep the product database up to date.
• Assist in the preparation and review of regular reporting obligations, including Payroll Tax and BAS.
• Collaborate with management and stakeholders to address accounting inquiries and provide pertinent financial insights.
• Ensure that all deadlines and reporting obligations are consistently achieved.
• Carry out additional accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative finance tasks as necessary.
• Around 5+ years of pertinent accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Solid practical experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Proven ability in performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Familiarity with month-end journal entries, month-end procedures, and internal reporting.
• Experience in payroll processing.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting while managing competing priorities.
• Background in working with Australian businesses or accounting practices.
• Knowledge of Australian GST and BAS procedures.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience overseeing or reviewing the work of bookkeepers, accounts personnel, or junior team members.
• Prior experience in mentoring, coaching, or providing feedback and guidance to junior staff.
• Familiarity with Odoo.
• Experience with other accounting, finance, or ERP systems.
