Senior Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The Senior Accounting Manager acts as a crucial technical authority within our Finance and Administration team.

• Working closely with the Controller, you will prepare timely and precise monthly Financial Statements that accurately reflect the integrity of Orbis International's accounts and records in accordance with GAAP.

• Maintain supporting schedules and conduct monthly reconciliations of temporarily restricted net asset balances.

• Identify discrepancies or inefficiencies in financial processes and present recommendations to the Controller.

• Ensure adherence to all pertinent financial regulations, including GAAP and donor-specific requirements.

• Supervise and mentor a team of two accounting professionals.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance along with a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

• At least 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a non-profit fund accounting setting, with proven hands-on experience in managing restricted and temporarily restricted net assets.

• Direct experience in coordinating or preparing Form 990 and 990T filings.

• Demonstrated technical proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance, as evidenced by a history of accurately applying these standards in financial reporting and ensuring compliance with requirements.
