This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist in the monthly general ledger closing process for international entities, aiming for an initial five-day close.
• Execute P&L and Balance Sheet accounting across various functional areas, including accruals and prepaids, fixed assets, leases, payroll, intercompany transactions, cash and bank reconciliations, and AP/AR subledger activities.
• Create journal entries, conduct account reconciliations, perform account analyses, and prepare supporting schedules.
• Investigate and analyze monthly P&L and Balance Sheet variances, addressing any issues that arise.
• Manage end-to-end closing tasks across different accounting areas while adjusting priorities to meet reporting deadlines.
• Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, Treasury, FP&A, and finance leads from various sites/business units to resolve issues at their source.
• Uphold Shared Services Accounting policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain documentation for business processes related to core accounting activities.
• Prepare and review accounting for foreign currencies, including remeasurement and translation adjustments in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Conduct intercompany reconciliations for both domestic and international entities and address any discrepancies.
• Assist in global consolidation efforts, including elimination entries, consolidation schedules, and reporting packages for foreign entities.
• Collaborate with regional finance teams to ensure the accurate and timely recording of international transactions and compliance with corporate accounting policies.
• Aid in local statutory reporting, external audits, and compliance tasks for international subsidiaries.
• Research and document accounting treatments for cross-border transactions and international accounting issues.
• Work alongside Tax, Treasury, and FP&A teams on matters related to international operations, intercompany settlements, and foreign currency transactions.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in accounting.
• Direct involvement in at least two distinct accounting areas, such as general ledger, fixed assets, payroll, intercompany, or AP/AR.
• Proven experience in closing the books for multiple entities, sites, or business units.
• Background in performing account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and managing month-end closing processes in a multi-entity setting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end closing procedures.
• Experience with applying accrual accounting principles and overseeing period-end cut-off processes.
