This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take ownership of the complete accounting process for revenue and partner agreements.
• Manage the month-end and quarter-end closing processes, which include reviewing subledgers, making journal entries, performing account reconciliations, resolving reconciling items, and ensuring related controls are in place.
• Analyze balance sheet and profit & loss variations, investigate discrepancies, and provide evidence-based insights.
• Review and distribute the revenue flash report.
• Collaborate with FinOps and Product teams to evaluate the accounting implications of new products and transaction and fund flows.
• Assess customer and partner arrangements in accordance with ASC 606 and other applicable U.S. GAAP standards.
• Record accounting conclusions in well-organized, audit-ready memos.
• Examine expected credit loss provisions and the underlying assumptions.
• Work alongside FinOps, Product, Billing, Legal, Tax, Data, and Engineering teams to convert accounting requirements into scalable processes, systems, controls, and reporting.
• Manage the accounting of customer and partner incentives, including validating calculations and recording accruals, true-ups, and journal entries.
• Ensure documentation is maintained and audit readiness is upheld.
• Identify, design, and implement AI and automation solutions to minimize manual tasks, enhance quality, and fortify controls.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, revenue, or auditing.
• ACA, CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS, especially ASC 606 / IFRS 15.
• Practical experience applying revenue recognition guidelines to intricate and judgment-based arrangements.
• Robust technical accounting and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to comprehend new products and commercial agreements, evaluate accounting implications, and translate findings into clear accounting and system requirements.
• Strong analytical mindset regarding systems and data.
• Proficient in understanding transaction and fund flows across systems, analyzing complex datasets, and identifying and addressing process, data, or accounting discrepancies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Skilled in preparing high-quality accounting memos and clearly articulating complex accounting issues.
• High level of ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to take full responsibility with minimal supervision.
• Practical experience utilizing AI, automation, or data tools for problem-solving and process enhancement.
• Experience in the payments, cryptocurrency, banking, or technology sectors.
• Familiarity with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems and transaction subledgers.
• Experience with Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite is a plus.
