Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the daily accounts payable operations, which includes reviewing and approving invoices, conducting weekly check runs, and reconciling vendor statements.

• Prepare journal entries and perform reconciliations for accruals, accounts payable, bank accounts, and the balance sheet during month-end closing processes.

• Manage fixed asset registers and compute monthly depreciation.

• Gather, categorize, and input monthly credit card receipts into NetSuite.

• Provide assistance with tracking and coding expense reports.

• Aid in the preparation of monthly state sales tax filings and respond to financial audit inquiries.

• Collaborate with the Senior Accountant and Controller on special projects.

• Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets for project management and tracking purposes.

• Report directly to the Controller while working closely with the Senior Accountant.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of experience in accounting and/or accounts payable.

• Understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, and general ledger.

• Proficient in Excel, with intermediate to advanced skills.

• A 4-year bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.

• Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is preferred.

• Intermediate experience with NetSuite is preferred.

• Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

• Knowledge of SharePoint is preferred.

• Good verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
