Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the month-end closing process, which includes journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and supporting schedules.

• Manage accounts payable, employee reimbursements, and corporate card programs, ensuring precise coding and timely accruals at month-end.

• Prepare and uphold balance sheet reconciliations with comprehensive supporting documentation.

• Collaborate with the Controller to enhance and automate the month-end close using AI-driven workflows.

• Assess AI, automation, and financial technology solutions, suggest enhancements, and lead their implementation when suitable.

• Work collaboratively with Engineering and other departments to pinpoint automation opportunities, integrate systems, and eradicate manual finance processes.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and various ad hoc projects.

• Ensure audit readiness by preparing audit schedules, maintaining documentation, coordinating auditor requests, and supporting ongoing compliance efforts.

• Manage special projects aimed at enhancing finance operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of the close process within a fast-paced startup SaaS or software environment.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and a keen eye for detail.

• Demonstrated experience utilizing AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) in your current position.

• Ability to quickly learn new automation tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier).

• A finance engineer's perspective: developing scalable processes that minimize workload while enhancing accuracy.

• Strong judgement in determining which tasks should be automated and which require human intervention.

• Experience leading or supporting financial audits.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Rillet, or a comparable GL/ERP system.

• Experience overseeing accounts payable, expenses, or corporate card programs (such as Ramp) is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
