Project Accounting Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish projects in the accounting system in accordance with client contracts.

• Evaluate contract terms and uphold project documentation.

• Set billing rates and manage change order processing.

• Assist project managers with budget planning for revenue and costs.

• Finalize completed projects.

• Review project expenditures and generate invoices that comply with contract terms.

• Post invoices and reconcile any monthly unbilled or deferred balances.

• Input subcontractor invoices and facilitate payment processing.

• Follow up on submitted invoices and those that are past due while coordinating collections.

• Monitor retainers and their allocation to projects.

• Supervise project backlog, work-in-progress balances, inactive projects, accruals, costs, revenue, and revenue recognition.

• Gather information for both internal and external audits.

• Participate in project reviews and meetings.

• Support financial activities related to projects, management reports, corporate initiatives, and other ad hoc tasks.

• Communicate with project team members and escalate issues to management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree or currently pursuing one, ideally in Business Administration or Accounting.

• At least 3-5 years of office experience; experience in professional services is a plus.

• Experience with Cost and Revenue tracking is advantageous.

• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.

• Proficient in MS Office/Excel.

• Familiarity with one or more accounting operating systems is beneficial.

• Experience with Vision or Deltek products is a plus.

• Well organized and capable of tracking and reporting information effectively.

• Ability to multitask and operate as a self-starter.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
