This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive profitable growth in the Northeast territory for performance chemicals and specialty additives.
• Increase territory revenue by approximately $750,000 annually through the acquisition of new accounts, expanding share with current customers, and recovering lost business.
• Establish and nurture executive, commercial, and technical relationships while effectively communicating the company's value proposition.
• Formulate and implement strategies for key accounts, focusing on opportunity mapping, project management, account planning, and pipeline development.
• Collaborate with teams in business management, research and development, production, customer service, and health, safety, and environmental sectors.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and supply agreements, ensuring the safeguarding of revenue and margin targets.
• Maintain comprehensive CRM records, customer contacts, call reports, pre-call plans, territory updates, and pipeline forecasts.
• Facilitate customer engagement through quarterly business reviews, technical presentations, and consistent on-site visits.
• Gather customer demand forecasts to aid in financial planning, inventory management, and supply chain decisions.
• Address product quality and service concerns in accordance with established quality protocols.
• Provide insights on market trends, unmet customer requirements, and competitive dynamics.
• Compile information for annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business reviews.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Eight to ten years of recent experience in specialty chemical sales with a significant emphasis on additives.
• Proven track record of generating new business within industrial markets such as coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers (CASE), and graphic arts.
• Extensive experience in the coatings market, ideally constituting at least half of the candidate’s recent commercial responsibilities.
• Experience in selling defoamers, dispersions, or similar performance additives is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of formulation chemistry, product performance, and application testing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage intricate sales cycles involving technical, operational, procurement, and executive stakeholders.
• Proficient in CRM platforms, account planning, pipeline management, forecasting, and detailed sales reporting.
• Strong skills in consultative selling, negotiation, project management, strategic planning, and presentations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
