Senior Account Executive, Employee Benefits

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take charge of managing a comprehensive portfolio while offering M&A/Due Diligence assistance.

• Foster and sustain positive client relationships by surpassing expectations and enhancing service delivery.

• Ensure transparent communication with internal team members, clients, and insurance carriers/vendors.

• Create marketing strategies aimed at securing competitive pricing, funding, and plan design opportunities.

• Promote coverage through the RFP process and request renewals for health and welfare plans.

• Participate in open enrollment meetings and assist in processing enrollment/change forms and documentation.

• Facilitate discussions regarding plan performance and design for private equity clients and their associated portfolio companies.

• Keep clients informed about industry trends as well as state and federal regulatory matters.

• Anticipate client requirements and propose strategies to tackle challenges effectively.

• Leverage Risk Strategies resources and tools to enhance efficiency.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or experience in employee benefits insurance.

• At least 10+ years of experience in the employee benefits sector.

• M&A/Due Diligence experience is preferred, but not mandatory.

• A valid State Life, Accident and Health broker’s license or the ability to obtain it within 60 days.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with marketing concepts and the ability to negotiate insurance coverage(s).

• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Capability to work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple tasks with interruptions and shifting priorities.

• Outstanding organizational and time-management capabilities.

• Knowledge of financial underwriting, self-insurance (Medical/Rx), and alternative funding programs (captives, RBP, etc.).

• Experience in generating new revenue from existing clients and contributing to the acquisition of new clients when applicable.
