This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +4 more states.
• Secure and maintain business for PPD through professional, consultative, and proactive sales initiatives.
• Promote post-approval medical communication services to both existing and prospective clinical sponsors.
• Establish PPD as a primary or preferred provider for outsourced Medical Communications services.
• Evaluate deals and create proposals, which include defining solutions and suggesting pricing models.
• Act as the main point of contact until the sale is finalized.
• Collaborate with medical communications teams to ensure effective implementation.
• Serve as a liaison between sponsors and the organization regarding business development activities and requirements.
• Collect information on marketing trends and competitive products, services, and pricing strategies.
• Organize RFP strategy conference calls.
• Create client presentations and negotiate as well as finalize contracts.
• Authorize new business agreements at or above the specified authorization target.
• Conduct cold calls and visit clients.
• Maintain the sales database and activity reports.
• Ensure client satisfaction through regular client interactions.
• Formulate recommendations to address client dissatisfaction and respond to client inquiries.
• Mentor and train junior-level staff.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent relevant academic/vocational qualification.
• 5+ years of relevant prior experience, or a comparable mix of education, training, and experience.
• Background in science, sales, and/or marketing with a focus on pharmaceuticals/biotech.
• Required direct sales experience within the CRO sector.
• Highly desirable experience in selling Medical Communications services.
• Proven history of developing mid- and high-level business relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for managing and collaborating with Operations, Finance, Bids & Contracts, and Marketing teams.
• Experience in identifying and nurturing sales leads.
• Proven ability to deliver professional presentations.
• Experience in managing the sales process through to closing.
• Capability in handling all facets of contract negotiations.
• Understanding of sales automation systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
