Security Engineer – Logging and Aggregation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute comprehensive cybersecurity tool-monitoring tasks as outlined in PWS 5.3.1.1

• Consistently verify that systems and applications are configured correctly for logging

• Confirm that appropriate data-retention policies are established

• Keep weekly logs of logging coverage and configuration validation

• Record and escalate any systems or environments that are incorrectly configured

• Ensure compatibility with DHRA Cybersecurity Service Provider logging systems

• Validate compliance with DoD and DMDC logging standards

• Assist in the formulation of organizational logging standards

• Utilize expertise in security engineering, compliance checking, troubleshooting, and network/security management for logging oversight

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• Three years of relevant experience

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Active Secret clearance

• Secret clearance is mandatory when assigned responsibilities involve classified information or SIPRNet access

• Proficiency in security engineering, compliance checking, troubleshooting, and the design and implementation of network and security management capabilities

• Familiarity with DoD and DMDC logging standards

• Capability to validate logging configurations for systems and applications along with data-retention policies
