SDET – Regression Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated regression test suites.

• Create automated tests for log and metric ingestion pipelines.

• Assess search and query functionalities for accuracy and latency.

• Test the precision of distributed tracing and end-to-end telemetry flows.

• Validate alert delivery mechanisms, firing conditions, and routing behaviors.

• Create automated tests for audit trail queries, ensuring integrity and expected system behaviors.

• Confirm Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments, focusing on clean-state deployments, reproducibility, and zero-manual-step expectations.

• Conduct load and scalability testing against defined performance benchmarks.

• Implement failure-injection scenarios and confirm expected platform responses.

• Execute regression testing across multiple versions and environments concurrently.

• Identify, document, triage, and track defects based on formal acceptance criteria.

• Verify fixes and conduct the necessary regression tests prior to quality sign-off.

• Collaborate with the Test Architect and engineering teams to enhance regression coverage continually.

• Maintain clear and reproducible automation code along with comprehensive testing documentation.

• Present regression evidence during sprint reviews and contribute to quality status updates.

• Operate within Agile sprint cycles utilizing formal acceptance criteria and Definition of Done (DoD).

⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience as an SDET, Test Automation Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, or a similar technical testing role.

• Strong hands-on experience in developing and maintaining automated test suites.

• Proficient in API testing and automation.

• Experience in scripting for technical validation and automation processes.

• Familiarity with load and/or performance testing methodologies.

• Working knowledge of cloud-based environments.

• Experience testing complex backend systems, infrastructure, data pipelines, or distributed systems.

• Experience working with formal acceptance criteria and Agile development methodologies.

• Strong hands-on skills in test automation.

• Proven experience in developing automated regression suites.

• Excellent scripting abilities for automation, pipeline validation, or log/data validation.

• Familiarity with load and performance testing tools.

• Working knowledge of AWS environments.

• Familiarity with Terraform-deployed environments and Infrastructure as Code principles.

• Understanding of OpenTelemetry-based systems.

• Knowledge of logs, metrics, telemetry, and distributed tracing concepts.

• Experience validating data or telemetry pipelines.

• Experience testing across multiple environments and/or product versions.

• Proficient in defect identification, triage, tracking, and verification of fixes.

• Experience using Jira or similar issue-tracking tools.

• Familiarity with formal acceptance criteria and Definition of Done (DoD).
