Senior Workflow Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Construct and consistently enhance the automation framework centered on n8n.

• Design, manage, and refine workflows for repetitive tasks, process chains, and cross-departmental operations.

• Evaluate current business processes in collaboration with specialized departments and process managers.

• Recognize and prioritize automation prospects based on business impact, technical viability, and scalability potential.

• Convert business needs into robust, production-ready end-to-end workflows.

• Oversee automation solutions throughout their entire lifecycle—from gathering requirements and implementation to operations, monitoring, optimization, and further enhancements.

• Connect internal and external systems through APIs and standard data formats.

• Set quality benchmarks, governance frameworks, review protocols, and reusable components.

• Empower colleagues to develop or implement their own automation solutions.

• Contribute to shaping VALUE AG’s automation strategy within the Hypoport network.


⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of practical experience with n8n in a production business setting.

• Demonstrated experience in building, operating, and continually enhancing business-critical automations.

• Proficient programming skills, for instance in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.

• Strong grasp of frontend technologies.

• Familiarity with API integrations, data formats, and contemporary automation and integration architectures.

• Comprehension of technical interdependencies and business requirements.

• Capability to evaluate effort, value, risks, and scalability potential.

• Independent, organized, and solution-focused work approach.

• Strong sense of ownership.

• Confident communication with specialized departments, process owners, and stakeholders.

• Ability to articulate complex topics clearly and understandably.

• Proficient in German at least at C1 level.

• Proficient in English at least at B1 level.

• Experience with UiPath, RPA, or transitioning existing automation solutions is a plus.

• Familiarity with browser automation, such as Puppeteer or similar technologies, is a plus.
