Scientific Services Veterinarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with field sales teams to inform key recommenders and enhance recommendations, market share, and sales growth.

• Foster relationships with specialty referral hospitals to boost nutrition category sales within adjacent general practices.

• Develop relationships with regional medical leadership and engage in high-impact events for strategic accounts.

• Establish and maintain Key Opinion Leader (KOL) networks and advocates.

• Deliver Royal Canin nutrition education to veterinarians, technicians, and hospital staff.

• Contribute to the growth of veterinary business through collaboration and joint business planning with sales teams.

• Act as a reliable technical resource and provide expert support.

• Represent Royal Canin at veterinary conferences and events.

• Offer nutritional case consultations to veterinary partners and clients.

• Adapt to the requirements for territory and regional coverage.

• Travel 3–4 days each week, designating one day for remote home-office work.

• Support field-based teams through local and air travel.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (or VMD) with an active license in at least one state.

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a veterinary practitioner, including internships, co-ops, and/or residency.

• Preference for experience in small or companion animal practice.

• Outstanding scientific communication and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneNote.

• Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively—up to 75% within the designated territory.

• Capability to travel via airline, train, or other means of transportation.

• Flexibility to travel during nights and weekends.

• Ability to independently manage travel arrangements.

• Capacity to work effectively from home when not traveling.

• Must be willing and able to travel to meet the responsibilities of the role.
