This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Deliver virtual academic, college/career, and personal/social counseling services to designated students.
• Support Individual Graduation Plan meetings, manage scheduling, and carry out administrative duties.
• Apply the ASCA National Model best practices in program implementation.
• Conduct an annual Needs Assessment for staff, parents, and students.
• Engage in the Advisory Council for school counseling initiatives.
• Complete a Use of Time analysis for one week each semester.
• Provide guidance instruction centered on ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors.
• Identify students in need of intervention and offer individual Solution-Focused Brief Counseling and small group support.
• Assist students in researching and comprehending post-secondary career and educational options.
• Facilitate Individual Graduation Plan meetings and oversee course selection for the student caseload.
• Adhere to procedures for course drops and schedule changes.
• Be knowledgeable about EOC, Career Readiness, PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exam requirements.
• Support timely graduation for students who are off-cohort or off-track.
• Review Senior Transcripts and Schedules and process graduating students upon fulfillment of requirements.
• Assist families in accessing school and community resources.
• Collaborate with staff concerning student welfare issues.
• Report and refer critical incidents impacting student well-being, while remaining updated on reporting regulations.
• Facilitate professional development activities for teachers and school personnel.
• Aid in organizing Career Day, College Tours, and other school counseling events.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• South Carolina School Counselor certification.
• Master's degree in School Counseling.
• Experience working with high school students, particularly Seniors.
• In-depth knowledge of South Carolina colleges, scholarships, and high school guidance systems, including the Uniform Grading Policy and Activity Coding System.
• Proficient technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Capability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for school events and state testing, which may include overnight trips.
• Must be able to utilize a personal electronic device and email for 2-step authentication.
