Scaffold Builder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.

📋 Description

• Erect, dismantle, modify, repair, maintain, and relocate scaffolding.

• Perform daily pre-work inspections on scaffolding components and systems.

• Transport scaffolding components from staging areas to erection sites.

• Ascend scaffolds and operate at heights while adhering to company protocols and 100% tie-off mandates.

• Assess the maximum intended load capacity of scaffolding systems.

• Safely operate hand and power tools.

• Recognize hazards related to scaffolding, including electrical risks and necessary distances from power lines and cabling.

• Identify safe measures for preventing dropped objects and falls from heights.

• Construct fall restraint and fall protection systems in accordance with OSHA and MSHA guidelines.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

• Operate independently without supervisory responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, or ten (10) years of experience as a Scaffold Builder will be considered.

• A minimum of three (3) years of scaffold building experience is required.

• Current Competent Scaffold Erector Card/Certificate is necessary.

• Experience with tube and block scaffolding, Safway systems scaffolding, Wedge scaffolding, and Suspended scaffolding is essential.

• Must provide personal basic hand tools at the job site.

• A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years is preferred for eligibility under the company vehicle insurance policy.

• Capability to climb scaffolds and work at heights with 100% tie-off.

• Ability to assess scaffold load capacity.

• Proficiency in safely using hand and power tools.

• Skill in identifying scaffolding hazards and determining safe mitigation measures.

• Competence in assembling fall restraint and fall protection systems in alignment with OSHA and MSHA protocols.

• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

• Valid identification is required for TSA security checkpoints when traveling to and from the site.

• Steel-toed boots are mandatory.

• Capability to meet the physical demands of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, reaching, handling, and hearing.
