This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and enhance Longroad's enterprise SCADA platform, LongView, used across more than 50 solar, energy storage, and wind projects.
• Create Ignition-based views, dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), workflows, custom alarm strategies, priority pipelines, and downtime management processes.
• Develop and sustain time-series data historization, including the transfer to cloud storage.
• Integrate SCADA systems with enterprise applications to streamline ROC and site workflows.
• Review drawing sets and engage in project commissioning meetings.
• Execute Owner’s SCADA integration and greenfield commissioning tasks.
• Conduct field verification, testing, and validation processes.
• Assist with IED telemetry troubleshooting both remotely and on-site.
• Test, deploy, and maintain SCADA and IED upgrades and patches.
• Collaborate with OEM SCADA providers regarding system modifications, upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Keep up-to-date drawings, configurations, asset inventories, metadata, UDT, and templatization workflows.
• Work with IT and ROC for firewall modifications and telemetry outages.
• Offer SCADA support to EPC vendors, O&M technicians, regulatory agencies, utility offtakers, and internal stakeholders.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in SCADA and Automation, emphasizing SCADA integration.
• At least 4 years of experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA, including development with Perspective and/or Vision modules, scripting, tag systems, and UDT architecture.
• Proficient in Python for Ignition scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with Ignition Historians, SQL, and database technologies.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP layer 1 and layer 2 concepts, with a foundational understanding of layer 3 and layer 4 concepts.
• Practical knowledge of industrial protocols, especially Modbus (RTU and TCP), OPC UA, and MQTT.
• Experience in utility-scale solar, energy storage, or wind projects.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Candidates must currently be authorized to work in the United States; the company does not provide work visa sponsorship.
• Preferred: experience with Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), or Structured Text PLC programming.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with SEL RTAC, SEL relays, SEL Axion PLCs, or other IED technologies.
• Preferred: familiarity with substation automation and electrical protection systems.
• Preferred: knowledge of IEC 61850, DNP3, and ICCP.
• Preferred: experience with Git and CI/CD for SCADA applications.
