This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Recruit, mentor, develop, oversee, and train team members, including succession planning.
• Supervise credit, loan, SBA documentation policies, closing due diligence, regulatory requirements, and related systems.
• Formulate strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, quality, and risk management within the SBA segment.
• Act as a subject matter expert on SBA closing and processing.
• Make independent decisions regarding compliance with bank and SBA documentation standards.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for business partners concerning team performance and transactional challenges.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations and manage performance-related activities.
• Oversee the SBA Closing Desk team and ensure timely workflow completion.
• Review loan documentation for originated and widely syndicated loans.
• Ensure accurate documentation of SBA, legal, credit, collateral, regulatory, guaranty, and approved-term requirements.
• Manage title company processes and communicate with borrowers about title requirements.
• Conduct SOX testing as necessary.
• Maintain document and data integrity for CECL compliance.
• Meet headcount, SLA, and efficiency metrics; investigate and resolve customer inquiries and complaints.
• Monitor and address system issues while establishing controls for audit compliance.
• Serve as a technical liaison for documentation processes, methods, and workflows.
• Lead documentation and monitoring initiatives.
• Collaborate with Credit Managers, Portfolio Managers, Underwriters, bankers, closers, attorneys, and strategic partners.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and federal/state regulations.
• Complete special projects and contribute to strategic planning and management decisions.
• Participate in regulatory and compliance webinars and training.
• Bachelor’s degree in business is preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in SBA Lending closing and a solid understanding of SBA loan program requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of SBA's SOP requirements and regulations.
• 6–8 years of experience in loan closing and documentation functions with outside counsel.
• 6–8 years of experience reviewing insurance, title work, collateral, lien filings, and appraisal reports.
• 2–6 years of experience collaborating with bankers, underwriters, closers, and attorneys.
• Familiarity with credit, loan, and SBA documentation policies, closing due diligence, BSA, Beneficial Ownership, Flood Regulations, SOX, and CECL data points.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and department-specific software.
• Capability to work with on-site equipment.
