SAP IS-U Billing Functional Consultant – Advanced English Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Configure, support, and improve SAP IS-U Billing capabilities in accordance with business needs.

• Collaborate on Rates, Operands, Billing Schemas, Bill Corrections, Budget Billing, Invoicing, and Bill Print.

• Analyze and resolve production incidents impacting SAP IS-U Billing operations.

• Investigate billing discrepancies and conduct Root Cause Analysis.

• Assist with service requests, defect resolution, and minor system enhancements in both production and managed-services settings.

• Engage in requirements collection, documentation, testing, training, and deployment throughout the enhancement lifecycle.

• Collect, document, and analyze functional and business requirements.

• Create Functional Specifications and collaborate with technical teams and developers.

• Evaluate impacts and dependencies across Billing, FI-CA, Customer Service, Device Management, and other related SAP IS-U processes.

• Execute and support testing for releases, upgrades, enhancements, and production launches.

• Maintain functional documentation, process diagrams, and user manuals.

• Ensure data integrity, reporting, and compliance efforts are upheld.

• Adhere to SLAs and operational support protocols.

• Participate in on-call support rotations as needed.

• Keep abreast of SAP Utilities updates, best practices, and emerging technologies.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional SAP IS-U teams to implement enhancements and guarantee the stability of billing processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of functional experience specifically in SAP IS-U Billing.

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP IS-U Billing configuration, rather than general exposure to SAP IS-U or solely ticket-based support.

• Practical familiarity with Rates & Operands, Billing Schemas, Bill Corrections, Budget Billing, Invoicing, and Bill Print.

• Experience in analyzing billing discrepancies and troubleshooting billing-related issues.

• Proven experience in supporting production environments and addressing functional incidents.

• Capability to perform Root Cause Analysis and determine if an issue arises from configuration, data, integration, or business processes.

• Strong comprehension of Utility Meter-to-Cash business processes.

• Ability to understand dependencies and impacts between Billing and other SAP IS-U areas, especially FI-CA, Customer Service, and Device Management.

• Robust requirements-gathering and functional documentation abilities.

• Experience in developing functional specifications and collaborating with technical and development teams.

• Excellent client-facing communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Advanced proficiency in English (C1) is required.

• Must be available to work remotely from LATAM.

• Preferred: Functional knowledge of SAP FI-CA.

• Preferred: Familiarity with SAP Device Management.

• Preferred: Experience with SAP S/4HANA Utilities / S/4 Utilities.

• Preferred: Previous experience in AMS / Managed Services environments.

• Preferred: Experience with Jira for ticket and incident management.

• Preferred: Prior experience within the Utilities sector.
