SAP Data Services Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, and enhance SAP Data Services (BODS) ETL/ELT workflows, dataflows, and mappings across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, and various non-SAP systems

• Convert intricate business requirements into precise source-to-target mappings featuring robust transformation logic

• Create extraction routines utilizing SAP HANA tables, extractors, RFCs, APIs, web services, flat files, and cloud platforms

• Develop routines for data cleansing, standardization, validation, and business rule processing

• Execute data profiling and assessment routines to identify patterns, gaps, anomalies, and quality concerns

• Monitor, debug, and troubleshoot job executions to address performance issues and eliminate bottlenecks

• Design and deliver high-quality, mission-oriented data solutions that support DoD transportation operations

• Collaborate with specialists across Planning, Procurement, Fulfillment, Financials, Application Development, Security, GRC, and Identity & Access Management

• Contribute to USTRANSCOM's global mission through SAP S/4HANA transportation and logistics solutions

⛳️ Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum requirement)

• 8 years of experience in Data Integration/Warehousing, with at least 5 years focused on SAP Data Services development

• Strong comprehension of SAP table structures, data models, extractors, and complete business processes

• Expertise in advanced BODS transformations, high-performance ETL patterns, parallel processing, and optimization strategies

• Proven experience in integrating SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP MDG, and SAP Information Steward

• Proficiency in SQL scripting

• Experience with shell scripting (Unix/Linux)

• Familiarity with ABAP for automation tasks

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team

• Up to 10% travel may be required

• Desired: Previous experience supporting USTRANSCOM (USTC) programs or transportation operations

• Desired: Demonstrated alignment with DoD transportation doctrine, including DTR and DoD FMR requirements

• Desired: Experience applying Clean Core principles within SAP S/4HANA environments
