This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.
• Act as the main consultant and owner of the territory for designated accounts
• Foster revenue growth utilizing a consultative sales approach
• Achieve or surpass the assigned sales quota through effective territory and pipeline management
• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic business development plan
• Offer consultative, content-driven, and practice-oriented pre-sales assistance
• Discover and cultivate new acquisition opportunities through networking, prospecting, and relationship development
• Increase revenue within current accounts by establishing multi-level relationships and identifying additional needs
• Navigate intricate sales processes that involve multiple decision-makers and influencers
• Progress opportunities through negotiation and closure
• Engage in and support Request for Proposal (RFP) processes
• Deliver polished sales and informational presentations
• Keep precise records of activities, pipeline, and forecasting data in Salesforce
• Generate timely and accurate forecasts and sales reports
• Remain updated on federal, state, and local K–12 education funding sources
• Retain knowledge of Pearson School Assessment products, competitive offerings, industry trends, and the specific territory
• Bachelor’s degree in education, school administration, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Over 5 years of successful sales experience with a proven history of meeting or exceeding goals
• Experience in selling to executive-level decision-makers across various departments in K–12 education
• Established connections with district-level leaders within the assigned territory are preferred
• Proficient business development, negotiation, and closing abilities
• Exceptional written, verbal, and phone communication skills
• Highly organized with strong time and territory management skills
• Salesforce experience is mandatory
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
• Comfortable functioning in a predominantly independent, virtual team setting
• Ability to work autonomously while managing a substantial volume of customer interactions
• Strong comprehension of K–12 assessment trends and practices
• Excellent presentation, communication, and consultative selling skills
• Capability to articulate professional and market trends and apply them effectively in customer discussions
