Sales Specialist – Analytical Chemistry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Strategically manage territories, assess opportunities, and finalize business transactions within the analytical chemistry workflow.

• Deliver client solutions that facilitate customers' next groundbreaking discoveries.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in the field of analytical chemistry.

• Collaborate within a network of general sales representatives, supply partners, portfolio teams, and marketing departments.

• Provide solutions that align with customer needs, specifications, long-term account objectives, and company strategy.

• Assist generalist sales representatives and management by participating in regional meetings, strategy discussions, key account initiatives, and technical seminars on-site.

• Cultivate robust external partnerships with manufacturers and industry specialists.

• Develop customer relationships, comprehend customer needs, pose clarifying questions, and ensure timely solution delivery.

• Identify opportunities, share ideas, and operate with minimal guidance in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

• Demonstrate curiosity towards customers and within the Avantor team.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent professional experience is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in chromatography is necessary.

• Strong understanding of the analytical chemistry market, including HPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC/MS, FPLC, flash chromatography, purification, spectroscopy, ICP, and wet chemistry.

• A valid Driver's License is required.

• Must be willing to travel to customer locations a minimum of 4 days a week.

• Must be willing to travel throughout the South-Central region of the U.S.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.

• Preferred: Experience in an analytical lab, including sample preparation and data analysis.

• Preferred: Experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instruments/equipment, including PM, IQ/OQ/PQ.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Salesforce and SAP.

• Preferred: Sales experience within a matrixed environment.
