This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Promote and market primary care products to healthcare providers within the designated Greenville, South Carolina territory.
• Drive demand, clinical education, and sales by formulating, coordinating, and executing a strategic business plan for primary care physicians.
• Educate healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy and safety profiles to facilitate on-label prescribing.
• Independently manage sales performance to ensure that sales forecasts and assigned budgets align with or surpass territory expectations.
• Establish and nurture professional relationships with primary care healthcare providers and pharmacy personnel.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of market trends, demographics, and managed care information relevant to the assigned territory.
• Promote appropriate use of approved primary care products and generate payer and community healthcare-provider pull-through in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Formulate local strategies and business plans in partnership with the District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director.
• Execute targeting plans utilizing promotional, digital, personnel, and analytical resources.
• Anticipate and tackle business opportunities and challenges using insights into the primary care marketplace, competitors, and industry plans.
• Provide healthcare providers with specialized education through programs that adhere to Shionogi guidelines.
• Contribute strategic and tactical insights to commercial colleagues.
• Prioritize physician engagement through both in-person and virtual discussions.
• Address customer product and business needs while adhering to the company's ethical and compliance standards.
• Manage customer objections, surpass customer expectations, and occasionally train others within the region.
• Utilize emerging technologies to enhance performance.
• Adhere to pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations while upholding high ethical standards.
• Report to the District Manager and collaborate with Marketing, Market Access, and other internal stakeholders.
• BS/BA degree is required.
• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or relevant sales fields.
• A proven history of consistent high performance in a sales-driven role or other pertinent experience.
• A demonstrated ability to cultivate long-term relationships with customers.
• Capacity to work independently while managing multiple clients.
• A strong understanding of the primary care market and healthcare industry is highly preferred.
• Proven ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and relevant laws.
• Familiarity with the medical, healthcare, or pharmacy industry, along with clinical skills, is preferred.
• Experience with product launches is advantageous.
• Knowledge of the territory and established relationships with key stakeholders is a plus.
• Proficiency in Veeva CRM, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and calendar-based call planning tools is advantageous.
• Experience in marketing and other commercial roles, including understanding financial processes, Market Access, project management, and the regulatory landscape within biotech/pharma, is a plus.
• Strong written, organizational, administrative, and communication skills are essential.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities are necessary.
• Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills are required.
• Proven capacity to accept constructive feedback and adjust performance accordingly.
• Results-driven with demonstrated time management skills.
• Ability to learn, analyze, comprehend, and convey complex information effectively.
• Capability to comply with corporate and industry policies and regulations.
• Effective prioritization, adaptability, and change management in a dynamic environment.
• Advanced business analytical skills to identify trends, opportunities, and threats are required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and determine actions that will propel business or overcome obstacles.
• Competence in utilizing corporate reporting tools and technology.
• Ability to meet customer credentialing and safety requirements, including up-to-date vaccinations and training.
• Complete the full onboarding curriculum, including clinical modules, CRM documentation, and call standards.
• Successfully pass live call certification and mock objections during training.
• Participate in refresher meetings concerning product and disease-state updates.
• Significant field travel, approximately 80%, which may include some overnight and/or weekend work.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Must maintain valid licenses and credentialing necessary to conduct business in the assigned territory.
