This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.
• Build and proactively manage a robust pipeline of municipal and transportation agency opportunities across the Western U.S.
• Generate new business through direct outreach to cities, counties, state Departments of Transportation (DOTs), and other targeted agencies.
• Conduct both cold and warm calls to assess agency needs, qualify opportunities, and introduce RAS services.
• Cultivate relationships with municipal decision-makers and sustain ongoing commercial relationships for both Sales-developed and assigned accounts.
• Facilitate virtual and onsite discovery meetings, sales presentations, interviews, and shortlist presentations.
• Develop and coordinate scopes of work, pricing, quotations, proposals, and various sales materials.
• Follow up with qualified prospects and advance opportunities through the RAS sales pipeline.
• Collaborate with Operations on opportunities and provide commercial support throughout the closing process.
• Act as the primary commercial liaison between assigned clients and RAS Operations, while Operations oversees project delivery.
• Engage in industry conferences, trade shows, and business-development events.
• Work together with marketing and proposal resources on presentations, proposals, brochures, white papers, and other pursuit materials.
• Build and maintain relationships with business partners contributing to project pursuits.
• Keep client, contact, and opportunity information updated in HubSpot or another CRM.
• Document significant sales activities and maintain precise sales stages, close dates, and weighted probabilities.
• Travel within the assigned region for client meetings, presentations, conferences, and business-development activities.
• Execute additional responsibilities as necessary to support the growth of RAS.
• Proven business development or sales experience, including outbound prospecting and direct client engagement.
• Experience in independently developing and qualifying new sales opportunities.
• Proven ability to conduct professional onsite and virtual sales presentations.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence in communicating with Public Works Directors, City Engineers, transportation professionals, and other technical or executive decision-makers.
• Strong organizational skills and the capability to independently manage a geographically extensive sales territory.
• Demonstrated ownership of tasks, perseverance, and follow-through.
• Ability to handle multiple opportunities through lengthy and complex sales cycles.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Comfort with learning CRM and other business technology platforms.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working remotely with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Candidates must reside within the designated Western U.S. territory and be within reasonable proximity to a major commercial airport.
• Preferred experience in selling professional services to municipal or other public-sector clients.
• Preferred familiarity with infrastructure, transportation, pavement management, sidewalk management, asset management, ADA compliance and transition planning, engineering, or municipal consulting services.
• Knowledge of government procurement and competitive proposal processes.
• Experience with HubSpot or another CRM platform.
• Comfort with technology, data-collection hardware, sensors, and related technical services.
• An undergraduate degree in Business, Communications, Engineering, English, Marketing, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
