This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Promote and sell Avantor products and/or services to designated clients while identifying new and potential customers.
• Negotiate, sell, install, or deliver products/services and offer post-sale support.
• Secure and uphold effective agreements for product/service distribution.
• Provide Avantor solutions across the designated market segments.
• Manage a diverse territory comprising multiple customers across various markets.
• Prospect and onboard new customers by overseeing a sales pipeline and crafting proposals.
• Demonstrate Avantor’s value proposition to potential clients and customers.
• Engage in consultative selling, detailing products, assessing customer needs and requirements, and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Formulate strategic business plans for the territory in collaboration with sales management to achieve growth and meet sales quotas.
• Prepare proposals and execute sales strategies alongside the sales management team.
• Cultivate and maintain customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
• Oversee Avantor’s product portfolio and execute company sales and marketing strategies.
• Enhance Avantor’s presence with existing customers through retention strategies.
• Utilize resources to implement marketing plans, strategies, and sales processes.
• Represent and build relationships with manufacturers.
• Collaborate with local manufacturer representatives to enhance product knowledge, secure preferred pricing, and boost account profitability.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A college degree or equivalent/applicable experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in a complex sales environment.
• Demonstrated history of verifiable sales success driving growth through a consultative, strategic selling approach.
• Experience in business-to-business sales.
• Preferred experience in distribution.
• A scientific background and/or experience in a laboratory or research setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in utilizing selling processes and technology platforms, including SAP C4C and Qliksense.
• A background in science or manufacturing research is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to engage in business discussions with business owners and decision-makers.
• Competency in managing challenging situations and interactions.
• Capacity to work independently and efficiently manage time and territory.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to sell strategically within an account.
• Understanding of individual customer operations.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• A valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations at least 4 days a week.
• Must live in close proximity to Indianapolis, Indiana.
