This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Promote and sell Avantor products and/or services to designated clients while identifying new and potential customers.
• Attain project profitability and billing targets within a designated sales territory and/or account.
• Engage in negotiations, oversee sales, manage installations or deliveries, and provide post-sale services.
• Ensure the distribution of products and/or services is secured and maintain effective agreements.
• Deliver Avantor solutions to customers across various market segments.
• Oversee a territory that encompasses numerous customers across different markets.
• Identify and establish new customers by effectively managing a sales pipeline.
• Create and present customer proposals that showcase Avantor's value proposition.
• Utilize a consultative selling approach by detailing products, identifying customer needs and requirements, and suggesting appropriate solutions.
• Collaborate with sales management to develop strategic business plans for the territory aimed at achieving sales growth and meeting quota objectives.
• Execute sales strategies and provide proposals in conjunction with the sales management team.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
• Manage Avantor's product portfolio while implementing company sales and marketing strategies.
• Enhance Avantor's engagement with existing customers through retention strategies.
• Utilize company resources to execute marketing plans, strategies, and sales processes.
• Represent and cultivate relationships with manufacturers.
• Collaborate with local manufacturer representatives to enhance product knowledge, secure favorable pricing, and improve account profitability.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent/applicable experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in a complex sales environment involving multiple purchasing decision-makers and solution-based selling.
• Demonstrated and verifiable sales success in driving growth through consultative and strategic selling.
• Experience in business-to-business sales.
• Distribution experience is preferred.
• A scientific background and/or experience in a laboratory or research environment is preferred.
• Proficient in utilizing selling processes and technology platforms, including SAP C4C and Qliksense.
• Background in science or manufacturing research is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with teams.
• Capable of engaging in business conversations with business owners and decision-makers.
• Ability to manage challenging situations and interactions effectively.
• Self-motivated and able to manage time and territory independently.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to sell strategically within an account.
• Understanding of individual customer operations.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be willing to travel to customer locations a minimum of 4 days a week.
• Must reside in close proximity to Indianapolis, Indiana.
