This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Serve as the primary post-sale contact for a substantial territory of customer accounts.
• Engage in face-to-face meetings and maintain communication through phone, email, and video conferencing.
• Drive sales closures, provide continuous support, and ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
• Address inquiries and offer consultative advice regarding products and services.
• Implement sales strategies and create performance reports.
• Identify opportunities to boost sales volume while upholding service excellence.
• Mentor junior sales representatives and contribute to the regional sales strategy.
• Consultatively market Avantor’s products and services by assessing customer needs and providing recommendations.
• Execute the company's marketing plans, sales strategies, and sales processes.
• Cultivate and maintain customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
• Develop strategic business plans for the territory in collaboration with sales management.
• Oversee the product portfolio and implement company-defined sales and marketing strategies.
• Prospect for and establish new customers through effective pipeline management and customer proposals.
• Enhance Avantor’s presence with existing customers through retention strategies.
• Represent and foster relationships with manufacturers.
• Collaborate with local manufacturer representatives to enhance product knowledge, pricing, and account profitability.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Experience in a complex sales environment with multiple purchasing decision-makers and solution-based selling.
• Documented sales success in driving growth through consultative, strategic selling.
• Preferred experience in a laboratory or research environment, distribution, and a scientific background.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Teams.
• Experience with CRM systems and QlikView is preferred.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations a minimum of 5 days per week.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with teams.
• Capability to conduct business discussions with business owners and decision-makers.
• Ability to manage challenging situations and interactions effectively.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage time and territory efficiently.
• Competence in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
