Safety Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with operations to ensure the implementation of safety study recommendations is effectively followed up.

• Guarantee adherence to review deadlines and ensure the efficient closure of action plans.

• Organize, plan, and provide safety support services to operational teams.

• Maintain compliance with internal standards and relevant legislation, including Brazilian Regulatory Standards (NRs) and other legal obligations.

• Assist in both internal and external audit processes.

• Draft and review procedures, technical opinions, and technical reports.

• Oversee management of change processes, integrating risk controls and protective measures.

• Aggregate and evaluate HSE indicators to facilitate management decision-making.

• Monitor critical equipment and establish contingency plans.

• Authorize and oversee high-risk activities, such as confined-space entries, hot work, and operations in potentially explosive environments.

• Conduct investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying root causes while recommending corrective and preventive measures.

• Engage in emergency response planning and participate in drills.

• Deliver continuous training to teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; a specific specialization is not mandatory.

• Minimum of five years of proven experience in conducting risk analyses, including HAZOP, APR/APP, HAZID, and BowTie methodologies.

• Significant experience in performing risk assessments.

• In-depth knowledge of applicable Brazilian Regulatory Standards (NRs) and risk analysis tools.

• Strong analytical capabilities for processing data and preparing reports.

• Effective communication, influencing, and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Intermediate proficiency in English.

• Familiarity with ACH.

• Certifications such as CBSP, THUET, and training in NR 33, 35, and 37 are advantageous.
